Danger or Dangereuse St Richard Hunter and Alexion Shade The Prologue of the book was quite frightening That s because I hadn t realized before that Dark Hunters can go bad And because I had not seen a bad Dark Hunter before in action Daimons were our usual good looking, disgusting human soul eaters.Later , I happily visited Katoteros, i.e the place where Acheron, Simi and Alexion live Alexion is the one that has been watching over Simi and kept her out of trouble for a few thousand years Where s my plastic, Lexie Simi apparently loves shopping and she does not know the value of money Simi will be confused in this book because there will be a family reunion for her.Alexion on the other hand will meet again his old friend Kyros I highly recommend that you read the short novel The Beginning Dark Hunterverse 0.5 , if you want to learn the tragic story of Alexion and how he became firstly a dark hunter and later on a kind of Shade.Alexion will meet Danger when he visits the human realm again on a mission Danger is French and she became a Dark Hunter during the French Revolution These two lonely souls will find each other and will connect during difficult times when Acheron has disappeared and a number of Dark Hunters are about to turn against him Sleep in peace, Danger I won t let anything hurt you I promise

This is another compelling and entertaining book in Dark Hunter series It had me hooked from the very start. The romance in this story is not as good as the previous one Although I felt no chemistry between Alexion and Danger, it wasn t important because the author kept me busy concentrating mostly on the Dark Hunters and the Daimons instead Moreover, the story was so intense and exciting that it pulled me into this story completely. After reading 6 books in this series, Acheron has never stopped to amaze me with his generosity and all the things he had done for humans and Dark Hunters The I ve known about him, the I want to read his book I know this is not a good review and I m so sorry for that But I have to be quick because I need to jump right into the next one now So, straight onto Unleash The Night

I m not satisfied with this book Sins of the Night is mediocre at best, both in storyline, characters, and style. The story starts good, a paradoxical situation given and a man or being without equal That already makes you expect something peculiar Doubt stared out from the dark depths of her eyes Then prove it That was easier said than done Prove it how The only way to prove to you that I m not out to kill you is to not kill you But it is all ruined Another rebellion against Acheron Really How stupid one has to be to try this The romance resembles the plot of Dance with the Devil There Astrid was to judge Zarek, and as they were locked together they had the opportunity to get to know each other In Sins of the Night Alexion is here to judge Danger and other Dark Hunters The story is mainly about the two of them, the development of their relationship But while the development of the love between Zarek and Astrid was impressively detailed, the delineation of Alexion and Danger s love is superficial. The story is of full of repetitions Not only phrases, but action lines, and thoughts are repeated as well The reader is continuously reported to about Alexion s thoughts revolving around his loneliness, his inability to taste, to feel, etc You are also told many times how Danger was betrayed and killed by her husband yes, it s sad, but repeating it again and again doesn t make it impressive Danger is repeatedly surprised by Alexion s godlike powers Even Alexion finds it strange. The dialogues are monotonous and all alike Repetitions in the erotic scenes page 182 a moment before she pulled her shirt page 184 an instant before he pulled her pants page 184 he swore he saw stars page 185 she swore she saw stars The story didn t touch me as much as it should have I didn t feel their emotions, their sufferings, doubts I couldn t see the reason for falling in love with one another Their HEA is solved by deus ex machina, a.k.a Ash Fate can t be changed, but there is always a loophole, isn t there The main charactersAlexion was the third Dark Hunter Artemis had created He became a Shade as his beloved wife s love wasn t pure toward him, and she had dropped the medallion that contained his soul Acheron felt himself responsible, and brought him back from Shadedom in a certain form Now he could only observe life, he couldn t live it He has no emotions, nor a corporeal form, but has godlike powers He is incarnated here on Earth for only ten days to rout a Dark Hunter rebellion One of the renegades is his once best friend, Kyros, whom he knows than 9000 years He was Acheron s Alexion, an Atlantean term that had no real translation into English Basically, he would do whatever was nevessary to protect Acheron and Simi And he truly meant whatever He had no conscience No morals In his world, the only right was Acheron s will It governed everything about him Yes, he could and did argue with Acheron at times, but at the end of it all, he was Acheron s protector He would always do what was in Acheron s best interest no matter the personal or physical cost to himself. Alexion s character is erratic once he is rigid, cold, and nonchalant, then suddenly he is lecherous and funny His thoughts revolve around how he misses tasting food, his sorrow that he has no feelings, that he is so lonely, and how much he wants to have sex He has much difficulties with his erection than the dilemma of judging his best friend, Kyros.Danger was betrayed and killed by her husband during the French Revolution, so you would think it would be difficult for her to trust a man again Well, she is so impressed by Alexion s superpower that she easily forgets about the trust issue.I was told about Danger s inner glow, warm , but I didn t feel it either In the first half of the story she is constantly wondering about Alexion s powers, as if she weren t a paranormal being as well This wow you have so cool powers thing seemed so fake.Secondary charactersUrian Dark HuntersDark Hunter enters, expresses his skepticism, Dark Hunter leaves Then comes another one, repeat It was like a stage play with very limited facilities. The newly introduced view spoiler Charonte demons Isn t Simi the only one hide spoiler

This book is the story of Alexion the boy , and Danger the girl That s right, Danger is her first name That s just not right Everyone knows that Danger is a middle name, not a first name Alexion lives with Ash in his weird ass castle in another dimension as his butler secretary But, it seems there may be a little going on than that since he is also known as Simi s other father I m Acheron s Squire it was kind of true Okay, not really It was a lie, but Alexion had no intention of letting anyone know his real relationship with Acheron Christmas gift for Simi.Okay, okay. I m just kidding Alexion is definitely hard up because he gets sent down to earth to stop a rebellion against Ash that will end in the deaths of many Dark Hunters, but all he can think about is jumping Danger s bones And, Danger is kind of a jerk at first, so he isn t too picky She even stabs him in the heart within minutes of meeting him, but he s okay with that Sheesh, if only my ex husband had felt that way Could have avoided time in the pokie But, I digressJust like the last book, this one was pretty blah He constantly whines about how much it sucks to be a lonely guy, and she spends too much time not believing him But, she is also magically attracted to him eye roll Get ready for your eyes to roll out of your head too because this line was actually in the book She wasn t sure if she should kiss him or kick him. I do have to give some credit to the author, though, because it takes a lot of nerve to write that sentence and expect to get away with it.The only good part of this book was that we meet Simi s sister and she is just what you would expect Fun

This is where Kenyon s Dark Hunter series jumps the shark, in my opinion This is NOT a romance novel, instead, is a book that expands on and expounds Kenyon s world and Kenyon s mythos Boring, and not what I wanted.Alexion real name Ias is a well, I m not exactly sure what he is A very powerful being that is second only to the gods He is Ash s right hand and it is his job to execute Dark Hunters who turn against Ash and start killing humans. He has no personality Except being horny And that s not a personality, in my opinion Kenyon has created such good heroes up until now good as in well developed and this is weak Really weak I can t enjoy reading about a hero who has about as much personality as a piece of cardboard. There was nothing sexy or attractive about this character..Then we have our heroine, the Dark Huntress Dangereuse St Richard She goes by Danger Yeah, I can t believe it either I was rolling my eyes a lot Especially at the cheesy lines What he wouldn t give for a taste of Danger. Nothing better than the feel of Danger.Really REALLY Anyway, she was murdered by her husband during the French Revolution for being the daughter of an aristocrat She has personality than Alexion, but I didn t find her very compelling She is a great fighter, and sassy, and brash But she wasn t caustic or irritating like Tabitha from Seize the Night was Still, I wasn t exactly thrilled to be spending time with her and I wasn t attached to her I didn t care if she and Alexion killed each other, had sex with each other, or died for each other Whatever.I just can t ever get into a story where two immortal, powerful, near unkillable beings who have no real problems and also eternal life fall in love with each other I just don t care I need at least ONE human to relate to..Part of the reason I feel so meh about this couple is that their love story takes a backseat to Kenyon s world building This isn t really a love story between Alexion and Danger it s a book about who Ash really is, what demons really are, how the gods feel about each other, Ash s past, blah blah blah I don t care Listen, I m not reading these books because Kenyon is some master fantasy storyteller, okay I m reading them because usually they are sweet love stories with falling in love and kissing Usually I can count on Kenyon to give me some adorable love stories about redemption and trust, and also write really good kissing and sex scenes She just bores me to tears when she tries to leave this formula and instead explain to me all about the mystical creatures in her world I don t care.So with a couple of boring protagonists and a dominating theme of this is my mythos, I cannot recommend this book in good conscience Unless you are a huge Kenyon fan and the idea of exploring her world with a fine toothed comb appeals to you.Oh, and the plot is very, very STUPID So stupid Basically, the Dark Hunters are being approached by a demon named Stryker who is trying to convince them that Ash is not a good person and is instead an evil man who doesn t care if they die. This is ridiculous because Ash is the one who gave them immortal life, granted them revenge on their enemies, made them all millionaires, and also gave them servants I have NO IDEA why they would ever doubt and hate him, and Kenyon does not give me any good reason to believe they would revolt. This same demon is encouraging them to eat humans, because absorbing humans will give them amazing powers according to him WHY WOULD YOU EVER PUT YOUR TRUST IN SOMEONE WHO IS TRYING TO CONVINCE YOU TO KILL AND EAT PEOPLE I just couldn t understand the rampant stupidity in this book.Basically, Kenyon is setting up this whole book so Acheron Jesus and Stryker Satan Stryker comes along and tries to convince everyone that God Acheron doesn t really love them and that they should turn their backs on Him him But Jesus Acheron really loves all his little children Dark Hunters and it hurts him personally to see them turn away from his light and salvation goodness and mercy. It s very heavily borrowing on Christian themes view spoiler At the end, the Dark Hunters have to stand to the right if they stand with Jesus Acheron and stand to the left if they doubt Jesus s Acheron s love Those who stand to the left are smote down hide spoiler

Book 8 in the Dark Hunter series gives us a break from New Orleans and all of the drama that goes down in that city Instead, we are in Mississippi with a much smaller cast of characters than in previous books Alexion is our hero, and he also happens to be Acheron s right hand man except he s not really a man, he s an other not going to be spoilery here, read it and find out Anyway, Alexion is sent in as judge, jury and executioner for a bunch of Dark Hunters that have gone rogue He meets Dangereuse another stupid name , our first female Dark Hunter, who is quite the sarcastic, kick ass heroine And together they set about saving as many Dark Hunters as they can from being tricked into turning against Acheron I loved Alexion He is such a Good Guy I loved the loyalty and protectiveness that he felt towards his loved ones particularly Ash , he was truly prepared to kill or be killed to protect those he cared about As expected in this series, he also has a tragic backstory, but he seems a lot accepting of it than some of the previous boys in the series, and doesn t dwell on his hideous past or let it affect him or who he is He and Danger were a great match and the two of them had some brilliantly wicked banter I was laughing out loud when the two of them sat and watched Troy together and, in between comparing the butts of Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom, he absolutely picks the movie to pieces because he had been there, of course Classic What I loved most about them though is that they were so honest with each other And when Alexion told Danger about himself, and what that meant for their future, they didn t immediately fall into a woe is me depression They continued on in their relationship view spoiler despite knowing that their time together would be brief and that Danger wouldn t even remember Alexion once he had gone sniff hide spoiler

I thought this was a unique turn for the Dark Hunter series, butthe end was kind of depressing A lot of the Dark Hunters died in this book, and what happened with Danger just wasn t the ending I wanted I tried to convince myself that Danger and Alexion are happy where they arebut everyone thinks that Danger is dead SOB I just think that Ms Kenyon, who can pull happy endings out of nowhere, could have ended this book on a upbeat note. That s why I can only give this one 3 stars Definitely not one of my favorite DH books, even though I really liked Alexion and Danger, both individually, and as a couple.

Posted on Under the CoversHer name is Danger and she is a female Dark Hunter She used to live a life of sin when she first became a Dark Hunter, but now, her suspicious eyes land on Alexion, an unexplainable new pawn in this deadly game All Danger knows is that Alexion is a major threat to her and her friends It s very likely that he has been sent to execute them, but despite this threat, there s this inexplicable pull that lures her closer and closer to him Will he strike or will he succumb to her desires SINS OF THE NIGHT seems much lighter in tone than some of the other books in the series Despite the dire threat of Alexion and what he has come to do, Danger s wit seems to really shine through and gives this book such a rich backdrop to explore Alexion s character and see what makes him crack Danger lays on her charm thick and Alexion doesn t really stand a chance at stone walling her They hit it off and though this still isn t my favorite book of the series, it s still a solid instalment for the Dark Hunters.Sherrilyn Kenyon always writes one or two awesome scenes in each book and for this particular one, the Troy scene really made me laugh I love SK s humor and it s nice to have a balance between all the action and the hot and heavy scenes Something light to lift your spirits certainly makes a good book even greater.
