I read these to my husband at nights as we prepare to adopt a child from West Africa and want to have a solid foundation of their culture I did find that reading these can give you great insights into the culture I could only give it four stars, though in some ways I feel that the deduction of a star might be caused by cultural misunderstanding Many of the stories ended abruptly, making us wonder if we were missing something Also, sometimes the stories have very strange conclusions or seem to be teaching the wrong thing, but like I said, that could be cultural I will say that these are not all child friendly stories, and if your hope was to read them to a child, I would recommend reading them first yourself.
