Love thisI just find written patterns so hard to follow This book breaks it down so clearly in graphic form and makes it so much easier to put together a complex pattern

This is a fantastic book, in no small part due to the stitch diagrams I m so spoiled I can t even do projects without the diagrams any They re so helpful.

Much than a book of crochet patterns this is the book to read if you want to learn symbol crochet From the book A couple of years ago, symbol crochet disappeared almost completely from American patterns Thankfully, symbol crochet is becoming popular once again, thanks to computer programs that can easily generate the symbols, and global access to crochet design through the Internet Designers, editors, and publishers are discovering the benefits of crochet symbols, including the international appeal of patterns that need no translation emphasis mine This book has a great balance of text and diagrams It feels like the author is reading to me as I decipher the corresponding symbols I love the layout and the highly original patterns The Maggie Wrap Top and the Paige Sweetheart Top are two of several favorites I love that most of the patterns call for DK weight 3 Light yarns The finished garments look fashionable and wearable not at all clunky.

As the name suggests blueprint means that every pattern has not only written directions, but also a stitch diagram I picked up this book in hopes that it would help me learn to read a stitch diagram, and it did This book is full of beautiful items from shawls to sweaters to earrings that I want to make someday I read through several of the patterns without working them through, and they seem easy to follow There is a great deal of shorthand so I ll have to work the process through my brain and figures a few times before trying them, but the beginning and end of the book have reminders of what the shorthand and stitch pattern marks mean The patterns look like they may be for advanced crocheters, but that won t stop me from trying And for the most part the yarns that they chose to make these out of don t look like they will be incredibly hard to find just expensive For the monetary reason alone, I will likely not make any of these patterns for quite a while Until then, the motifs present in many of the items are beckoning to be added to other things.

Love this I wish everyone would move to charts I just can t handle written crochet instructions If you aren t adapted to charts blueprints this will help you cross over, which will make the world of Japanese crochet books accessible to you Robyn is my favorite crochet designer I don t think anyone comes close to her when it comes to consistently beautiful design The patterns in the book are beautiful.

This had some really pretty uses of crochet to make beautifully designed garments The Isabella wrap was cool construction and Julie Cuff is something I hasn t thought to do but a wonderful idea Many of the patterns use motifs like might show up in a blanket The great thing about this is that they can be depicted with symbols for a straightforward working of the patternrereading, jan 11
