WOW You know when you find yourself still thinking about characters from a book you read days ago because you get so invested in their lives That was this book for me We met Matt and his two daughters in book 1, and it is impossible not to feel for them I knew this story would be emotional given how much they have all gone through, but I found it moving than I expected Liv is the perfect heroine for Matt and the girls She is everything they need, and it was incredible to watch her slowly bring their hope back She is strong, feisty, and compassionate, and you can t help but love her Matt certainly has his own struggles and demons, and he is the kind of character you just have to root for Watching him fight his way back to the living really demonstrated his strength and determination The mystery in this story was great as well, and I ll admit I had NO idea who the villain was I did feel like things were tied together just a liiiitle too well at the end, but that s just me being nit picky Overall, a fantastic story with wonderful characters and an engaging mystery 5 stars

4.5 Stars The sinfully sexy, capable, and hardworking Drake brothers are back as we once again go down under to Twizle This time Matt Drake is fighting both his attraction to a fiery haired newcomer, and the demons from his recent past.Summary Olivia Logan is in danger For months, she s been dealing with a stalker, but the latest gift left for her shows that the stalker is disturbed than first thought Olivia hates running from anything, but with the most recent escalations, it s for the best if she disappears for a while Believe it or not, the small, southern town of Twizle is where it s decided she should hide out and hopefully stay out of harm s way Twizle is not like anything she s ever experienced before For Olivia, her comfort zone was obliterated The townspeople are curious, the young girls she s teaching had an unknown traumatic experience, boy racers are attempting to take over the streets, and the head of the police department sparks something dangerous inside her with his vulnerability, his obvious pain and grief, and of course his model good looks A year later, Senior Sergeant Matt Drake is still fighting the storm swirling inside him after his wife s betrayal and death His twin girls are drifting farther out of his reach, and he s lost a part of himself he s not sure he ll ever get back The last thing he needs is for a fiery haired temptress to muddle his thought processes, especially with the danger she s bringing with her But their connection rages on out of control like a storm, and resisting becomes harder for the both of them Can Liv risk everything she s worked so hard for, and take a chance on a emotionally damaged man Is Matt strong enough, steady enough, to be what Liv needs Both Matt and Liv hold secrets, and secrets have an uncanny way of being revealed in Twizle.Practically from the beginning of book one, I was than ready for Matt s story He was broken and while we knew the reason, it was so much than what we saw in Southern Sunset I liked that we didn t jump straight into Matt when we opened the book We are first introduced to our heroine, Olivia or Liv Nicola promised us strong heroines, and Liv didn t disappoint She was smart, thoughtful, confident, determined, and very caring I absolutely loved how quickly and completely she was committed to the twins My only issue is how she came to be in Twizle Of course it makes sense for her to be away from her stalker, but it didn t quite fit that Twizle was picked without someone from law enforcement being made aware of the situation I don t think it would have hurt the storyline if Matt or maybe Maggie knew the real reason she was there Kind of like protective custody Now Matt He was drowning After losing his wife the way he did, then not being able to be there for his girls, he was slowly losing himself There were a lot of times in Southern Sunset I wanted to hit him over the head for his behavior, knowing he was all two small girls had, but I understood his pain and grief At the start of the book, he has admitted to his problems coping and knows things should change, but it isn t going well Liv wakes him up, revives him, if you will I loved the undercurrents between them Liv made Matt work for it, and it was fun to watch The twins completely stole my heart Those sweet lil girls had been through hell, and still weren t completely out of the woods, yet Overall, this was another amazing addition to the 44 South series Where book one was a murder mystery for me, Southern Storm was thriller It kept me on the edge of my seat, completely unable to put it down Well done Nicola I cannot wait to see who s book is next I m also really intrigued by a couple of the townspeople and really hope we find out all of their secrets 3

Fantastic and thrilling Another thrilling book from the lovely Nicola Claire I couldn t put this book down The suspense in this book is fantastic It kept me turning the pages I needed to find out who her stalker was, and let s just say I was gobsmacked when I final found out who it was I loved the mystery, the intrigue, the romance and well just everything I especially loved Olivia She was intelligent and stubborn and sweet She is just what Matt and his girls needed Even though she was there, in Twizel, under false pretenses Matt also discovered a few things about himself along the way I loved how much he loved his girls and how much he was realising he didn t need to carry the guilt of what Missy had done It was Olivia who freed him, not so much as a psychiatrist, but as a woman When Matt loves though, he loves to his fullest and Olivia loves right back to her fullest to.There are still a few mysteries left unsolved in this book Like Ms Parsons, for instance Even though I love her, she don t half get on my nerves Her vague answers or just going about her snooping Also who is Mr Bennett What are they both hiding Will we ever find out Are they both secretly in love with each but won t admit it So many unanswered question And oh my, poor Devon So sad Didn t see that coming either Then again, you see much of it coming Which totally brilliant Counting down now until the next book Whether that be Justin s book or Zach s book.

Olivia Logan has trouble coming her way, there s a stalker out to get her and she has no idea who or why So, she ends up changing her name and heading to a job in Twizel to help to mute girls start to talk again She thinks this will just be away to pass the time hiding away and helping two little girls, but it s much Not only does she fall for the girls, but she falls for their father too Matt hasn t had a very good year, he s been trying to deal with his wife s betrayal and death, and things just aren t looking up for him But, when Olivia storms into his life he ends up taking a good look at what he s been doing and decides he needs to change for the better To help his family and to keep Olivia in his life This book was utterly amazing I adored Olivia, and Matt together and each as a character as well I also loved how they worked hard with the girls too This book had romance, suspense, two awesome little girls, and a whole town full of crazy It was just that great, the only downside I had was how quick Matt fell for Olivia, but I did love how it ended, so it all worked out for the best
