I liked this book because Gray did not want to be a duke but his brother passed away and Hos mother started having dinners and balls to parade all of the eligible women of the ton but he went to visit his sister in law and He met Juliana and he fell right away.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. A quaint short story of the new Duke of Pennyton, Grayson Grey Wingrove He is a handsome, dutiful son, an intuitive man who can read people even when they try to hide their true feelings When his elder brother died and left him the title, his brother also left his widow, Deborah While in her year of mourning she wrote to her younger sister to be a companion to her Juliana had postponed this request all long as possible She did not want to attend to her sister Not that she did not love her, but she knew how shallow and materialistic Deborah could be When Juliana s parents threatened her with an arranged marriage, she decided to be at her sister s home to try and comfort her Almost as soon as she arrived, Grey saw her preparing to ride one of his horses one morning He was enad with her Juliana s inexperienced in the ways between men and women, could not explain the feelings she had when around Grey She soon figured out that she was attracted to him They both loved riding On one occasion Grey expressed his desire to court her and she said yes However Juliana had some reservations about his mother, the Dowager Duchess, Eleanor The Dowager had already expressed a distain for Juliana even though she could not understand why The rest of the story is about the games the Dowager and Deborah play in order to get Deborah remarried to Grey Even though Grey had paid no attentions to her Then Deborah put her sights on his cousin, Lord Edgar Wingrove to make Grey jealous However Edgar had been one of Deborah s suiters before she married Grey s brother Now it seems that Deborah had true feelings for Edgar and hatched a plan to trap him into marrying her Juliana was shocked each time Deborah explained her machinations But when Edgar became angry with Deborah because of what she did, Deborah cried Juliana did not believe her eyes and became convinced that her sister did indeed love Edgar In the meantime Grey expressed his wish to court Juliana to his mother, the Dowager Eleanor She was not at all pleased She sent for Grey s friend Lord Richard and advised him that Juliana was keen to marry So Richard started to press his suit towards Juliana He did admire her so it was sincere She however told him she was promised to another but could not declare it until it was formally announced Richard understood and wished her well When Grey figured out what his mother had been up to He in no uncertain terms told her she was to stay out of his business That he loved Juliana and if she would have him, he would marry her He also said that she would have to live elsewhere because she did not get along with Juliana This caused the Dowager deep concerns Will Juliana have her happily ever after with Grey Will the Dowager continue to interfere with Grey s love life Will Deborah snag Edgar for herself or will she lose him to another You will enjoy reading this I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
