Seamless Crochet

Seamless Crochet Not as interesting as I had hoped Didn t like the look of the projects too much open space between elements. Another nicely presented book on crochet, with lots of lovely shawls, scarves and other projects, none of which I ll probably ever make But a nice book to look at, and I ll keep note of it for in case. Blue lagoon swirling hexagonBlissful flower motifMoroccan tileShark hunter blanket Begins with patterns photos with techniques method in the last section The designs are open, modular lacy looking Recommended for intermediate to advanced crocheters due to complexity of patterns scale. I am a mean hooker by crochet hook, of course , and simply retarded when it comes to sewing So ms Omdahl s my kind of designer Love this. I liked the idea, but there weren t many patterns here that I especially liked The flower trivets looked interesting. This book has some beautiful pieces in it, and the technique is great no weaving back in all those end pieces The only problem I have with the book is that she doesn t describe how to do the fsc stitch foundation single crochet which is used on some items Addendum I have now watched the DVD and it s very useful She goes over the stitch diagrams, which could otherwise be confusing, and she does a stitch along on one of the hats Sadly, no demonstration of the foundation single crochet. The concept is brilliant I know she credits the Japaneses books she s been reading, but still, her presentation is so clear My only disappointment with the book was that the brilliant explanation of the technique was hidden in the back end of the book I had to puzzle through the patterns first before I got to the big picture.I guess publishers know that fiber geeks aren t the main market, even with technique books. and design company KRISTIN, Kristin Omdahl frequently contributes to the website that bears her name In addition to showcasing her designs, Kristin serves up terrific articles about knitting, crochet, yarn and even a few sneak peeks at what s new Kristin Omdahl designs knit and crochet garments and patterns under her label KRISTIN, and is the author of Crochet So Fine Interweave, July 2010 and Wrapped In Crochet Interweave, 2008 She appears in every episode of Knitting Daily TV on public television as the show s Crochet Corner expert, and she conducts seminars around the country on crochet and in her new DVD workshop, Innovative Crochet Motifs Interweave, 2009 Kristin s work has appeared in Interweave Crochet, Interweave Knits, Knitscene, Vogue Knitting, plus books including Crochet Gifts Interweave, 2009 and Crochet Me Interweave, 2007 She enjoys knitting and crocheting in her orchid garden in sunny, Southwest Florida Check out what s new with Kristin at
